The Office of the Premier in the North West Province is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed South African citizens to join their 2025/2027 Graduate Internship Programme. This 24-month internship programme provides an excellent platform to develop skills, build networks, and kick-start your career in various departments of the provincial government.
What is the Graduate Internship Programme?
The Graduate Internship Programme is designed to provide young, qualified South Africans between the ages of 18 and 35 an opportunity to gain practical work experience in a range of administrative and professional fields. Interns will be placed in different directorates within the Office of the Premier, where they will engage in hands-on tasks and contribute to key projects in a dynamic, professional environment.
The positions are available on a 24-month contract, offering stipends between R7 450.75 and R10 978.71 per month (depending on the candidate’s qualifications). It’s an ideal opportunity for recent graduates who are eager to grow their skills and contribute to public service.

- Strategy and Planning Internships
- Requirements: Bachelor of Administration, Post Graduate Diploma in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Policy and Research Internships
- Requirements: Bachelor of Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, LLB, or related degrees.
- Human Resources and Labour Relations Internships
- Requirements: National Diploma in Human Resources Management, Labour Relations, Industrial Psychology, etc.
- Risk Management and Compliance Internships
- Requirements: Bachelor of Arts in Risk Management, National Diploma in Auditing or Risk Management.

- Hand-Delivered Applications: Alternatively, you can hand-deliver your application to the Directorate of Human Resource Management, Second Floor, Ga-rona Building, Mmabatho.

- Z83 Form & CV: Ensure that your application includes a fully completed New Z83 form (available from any public service department) and a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV). All attachments must be in PDF format and submitted as one document.
- Subject Line: In the subject line of your email, clearly indicate the correct job title and reference number of the position you are applying for.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
- Previous participants in government internship programmes are not eligible to apply.

Key Dates:
- Closing Date: All applications must be submitted by 10:00 AM on 24 January 2025.
- Shortlisting and Interviews: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Successful candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks, including criminal records, financial checks, and verification of qualifications.
Additional Notes:
- Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other relevant documents.
- Failure to submit documents when requested may result in disqualification from the selection process.
- The successful candidates will be expected to undergo a variety of checks before being confirmed in the role.
